Little People's Learning Center (LPLC) is exploring the viability of running the Yellowstone Adventure Camp (YAC) for the Summer of 2026. Your response to this email helps LPLC assess whether it can operate the Yellowstone Adventure Camp.
YAC has been a day-camp type experience for Gardiner area children from kindergarten to 6th grade that runs for much of the Gardiner School summer break. Traditionally it's been an excellent childcare option for community parents during summer. Unfortunately, LPLC was unable to operate YAC in the summer of 2025 due to a lack of teacher applicants and housing availability for potential teachers. LPLC hopes to have better luck in 2026. If you're interested, your response to the anonymous poll below assists LPLC in evaluating whether it can operate YAC.
An anonymous poll is linked at the bottom of this email. It asks for the number of children you'd be interested in enrolling, the dates you'd be interested in enrolling children at YAC, and at what weekly rates you'd be interested in YAC. For the rates, please answer for each amount you'd still be interested in enrolling your child. Please only submit one response per family.
A rate increase from 2024 rates ($180 per week) is likely. LPLC advertised positions for YAC last year with the highest teacher wage it has ever offered. There was minimal interest. LPLC intends to advertise an even higher wage this year to try and attract quality educators. Additionally, LPLC's insurance carrier determined LPLC will need to purchase an additional liability insurance policy for YAC. LPLC is a nonprofit and does not have the capability to absorb increased costs, thus must increase rates to offer YAC.
Lastly, LPLC is fully enrolled and requires a full time staff of four to work full days. Coordinating and planning YAC is a challenge for LPLC under current enrollment. If there is any interest in hosting, volunteering, a paid teaching position, or providing entertainment/presentations for YAC within the community, please let us know. Help from the community increases the odds of YAC occuring.
