Hello Gardiner School Family! This is Laurie Smith working on Mr. Beracha's computer. I want to say farewell and thank you for 20+ years of working with students, teachers and families in the Gardiner School District. I am formally retiring, again. Today is my last day. Please contact Mrs. Modderman or Mr. Beracha if there is anything I left unfinished with you. It has been a privilege to work with this team and this community. Thanks for all the years,
Laurie Smith

Please consider taking this survey if you meet the criteria. This is ONLY for Gardiner, Mammoth, and/or Paradise Valley residents who are 18 years or older that live and/or work in the North Yellowstone area (Mammoth to just south of Livingston) at least 3 months or more in the last year. We ask that each adult in a household complete their own survey.
The survey is about perceptions of agriculture, including agricultural education, in this community. The first section consists of eight questions that are demographic in nature. The second section has seven questions specific to agriculture. This survey should take less than 15 minutes total (far quicker for most folks).
You can scan the QR code or click on the link here:
https://forms.gle/2oiVAQ3f54Tz7WK67 For every 50 individuals that complete the entire survey, we'll draw a name to receive a 14" Gardiner FFA Christmas Wreath (value of $30 per wreath), to be drawn by or before December 1st!

Recently ten Gardiner FFA members attended the 98th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN, from October 28 to November 2nd.
One of the main reasons the chapter attended nationals was to present on the Student Showcase stage “American Indians: People of the Present.”
A recording of the presentation can be seen here, under the Variety section, starting at 11:30 minutes.
https://www.ffa.org/2025-student-showcase-stage/.
Officers Ciella and Badger spoke while Journey modeled a dress from Designs by Della, a Montana Crow fashion designer. Summer and John helped serve samples of fry bread and chokecherry syrup to the judges and audience members during the part of the presentation that addressed native foods.
This presentation was the culmination of Badger’s Living to Serve plan he started developing after attending the FFA Washington Leadership Conference in the summer of 2024. Over a year and a half time frame, the chapter presented to our school, our community, at the Montana FFA State Convention (winning the state American Indian presentation event), and finally the National FFA Convention stage—with the goal of spreading accurate information and awareness about American Indians. Congrats, Badger, on fulfilling your Living to Serve plan!
Lastly, Gardiner FFA wants to thank Anna Hollaway for hosting us at her family's property outside of Indianapolis as well as preparing our fry bread. We also want to thank our FACS teacher, Alisa McLaughlin, for sharing her class’s homemade chokecherry syrup!
