Gardiner Public Schools is a K-12, one-building school that serves approximately 200 students. Gardiner is located along the Yellowstone River at the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park.

The west end of the school building (half of the Industrial Arts classroom) is in Yellowstone National Park, the nation's first national park.
The school is two miles north of the 45th parallel of latitude and is only two miles closer to the North Pole than to the equator. This puts us in the middle of the North Temperate Zone, placing us in the heart of the greatest migratory wildlife range of the temperate zones of the world.
Part of our student body comes from Mammoth, Wyoming which is two miles south of the 45th parallel and 6200 feet above sea level, nearly 1000 feet higher than Gardiner.
